About Our Martial Arts Facility
Since 1973, the National Karate - Academy of Martial Arts has remained unwavering in its commitment to empowering its members with a holistic approach to success. Rooted in self-defense, confidence, and a mastery of life skills, our curriculum is designed to guide individuals on a transformative journey of personal growth, empowerment, and achievement.
Master Jeff Sidner began his martial arts training in 1989 and started with National Karate in 1992. He was promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt in 1995 and currently holds the rank of 7th Degree Black Belt. His primary instructors were Terry Wise, George Splichal, Dan Soleberg, and Brian Spiess under whom he promoted to 1st degree black belt. In 2013 he became the Owner/Head Instructor of the three of the Twin Cities Area NK Schools. After 10 years of growing his locations into some of the most successful schools in the organization, Master Sidner along with his fiancรฉ, Gail Adams, decided to relocate to Colorado Springs in 2023 to open the second NK school in Colorado.
Throughout his martial arts career Master Sidner has been an active tournament competitor. He is a multiple regional grand champion and has been nationally ranked in the top five heavyweights in the country. Active in both weapons and fighting competitions, Master Sidner also holds the distinction of being one of three martial artists in the history of the National Karate organization to win three grand championship titles in a single tournament! โI have always loved competing. To me, part of being a martial artist is pushing yourself outside your comfort zone and tournament competition allows me to do that.โ
In addition to his competitive career, Master Sidner takes great pride in the fact that he has consistently had success as a school manager. Having graduated Magna Cum Laude from Concordia College with a degree in Marketing, Master Sidner credits his education with giving him the tools to be innovative in how he manages his schools. โI believe in the training that Iโm offering my students because I am a product of it. I think my success can be attributed to the fact that people can sense that I truly have a passion for what martial arts training can do. My favorite part about teaching is seeing my students benefit from this training in many of the same ways I know I have!โ
